Registration for Camp & CB Saturday Reminder

We’re excited to remind you that CB Saturday is this weekend—April 11 at Reunion Ranch! Please be sure both you and your child are registered to attend. A parent or guardian must register and attend with each camper to provide any necessary diabetes care and additional supervision. We’ll send a reminder email on Friday with details about what to bring and the schedule for the day.

Registration is also open for Camp Bluebonnet (June 15–19)—be sure to secure your camper’s spot using the registration button below.

New Fundraisers

Following the success of our Amplify Austin campaign, we’re excited to share several new ways to help ensure Camp remains safe, accessible, and full of meaningful experiences for every child.

HundredX

Last year, our community helped raise over $3,200 through the HundredX Survey campaign!

If you’re unfamiliar with HundredX, it’s a marketing research company that gathers opinions from everyday consumers. Each completed survey generates $1.60 for Camp Bluebonnet, and each participant can raise up to $120 by completing 75 surveys.

This is an easy way to support Camp without spending any money—just a few minutes of your time can make a meaningful impact.

Participants receive $50 off camper registration or may choose a gratitude gift from our website. Multiple supporters may contribute toward one camper’s fees.

Campaign dates: March 27–April 30

Send Diabetes Packing

Our Send Diabetes Packing campaign helps campers reach a $500 fundraising goal by inviting supporters to “purchase” items for their diabetic kit bag.

Family, friends, teachers, coworkers, and neighbors can each contribute toward an item. Donations are collected directly by the participant and submitted together by the deadline. Be sure donors include the item name in the payment note so you can track your progress.

Once donations are collected, submit them following the instructions provided and complete the participation form to receive incentives and registration credit.

Campaign dates: March 26–June 10

GiveButter (Year-Round Fundraising Opportunity)

Thanks to Givebutter, we now have a year-round online fundraising platform that lets supporters create personalized campaigns under the main Camp Bluebonnet fundraiser.

If you enjoy ongoing fundraising or want a simple platform to share your story, email us at camp@cbt1d.org to get started. Editable Canva graphics for social sharing will be available soon!

New CB Shirt (Preorder by April 9)

A new camp season means a new shirt! One of our former campers helped design this year’s shirt, and we are currently accepting preorders through April 9.

Participants who have raised $100 or more through fundraising this year will receive a free shirt. If you haven’t participated in fundraising yet, you can still preorder a shirt for $25 (or $20 with the preorder discount).

Pickup options include:

  • CB Saturday (April 11)
  • Camp Orientation (June 9 & June 11)
  • Camp Week (June 15–19)
  • Bluebonnet Brews meetup (monthly at Merfolk’s Specialty Coffee)
  • Shipping ($8 additional fee)

Community Challenge

We’re launching our first CB Community Challenge to help spread the word about Camp Bluebonnet and connect with our community and more families who could benefit from Camp. And also be entered in a raffle for some camp goodies!

Here’s how to participate:

  1. Post our flyer on a community board at your favorite coffee shop, store, library, or neighborhood space.
  2. Take a photo of the flyer posted.
  3. Tag us on social media (@campbluebonnet).

If you find a flyer already posted, snap a photo and tag us to earn an entry as well.

Entries close Sunday, June 14, and the raffle winner will be announced at Friday’s Family Fun Day on June 19.

Keep an eye on our socials for location inspiration and to keep up with the competition!

Orientation Announcement

Camp Orientation is a required open-house-style event designed to help families feel prepared and confident heading into camp week.

During orientation, families will:

  • Confirm registration details and update any missing information
  • Pick up camp materials (camp shirts, SPIbelts, daily medical logs)
  • Meet members of our medical and volunteer teams
  • Ask questions and review expectations for the week

It’s a valuable opportunity to connect, ask questions, and feel ready for a smooth start to Camp.

South Orientation

Tuesday, June 9 | 6–8 pm

First Baptist Church of Round Rock

North Orientation

Temple Location, TBD

Check our socials for updates!

Volunteer Call

Camp Bluebonnet is made possible by the dedication of our community volunteers, and we still have several roles to fill for this summer.

We host monthly virtual volunteer orientations, leading up to Camp. Our next orientation is on May 6 at 7:00 pm via Google Meet. You can RSVP below.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Camp week support roles
  • Medical and non-medical positions
  • Camp planning committee roles

We are looking to fill roles in person during the week of Camp, as well as some positions on the camp planning committee. If you or someone you know may be interested, we would love to connect!

Shared Care, Stronger Outcomes

Managing type 1 diabetes is a family effort, not a responsibility children carry alone. Research shows that when caregivers remain involved throughout childhood and adolescence, kids experience better blood sugar outcomes. Support should evolve with development—young children need full supervision, school-age children build skills with guidance, and teens benefit from growing independence with continued caregiver support. Even older adolescents do best when they know they are not managing diabetes alone.

Caregiving can also be demanding. The daily decision-making and constant vigilance can lead to stress and burnout, making caregiver support just as important as child support.

Join us this Saturday at CB Saturday for a brief Caregiver Support Session focused on connection, shared experience, and practical encouragement. Supporting your child starts with supporting yourself.

Texas Lions Camp

At Texas Lions Camp, kids ages 8–15 with type 1 diabetes can enjoy a fun, supportive week of overnight camp—at no cost!

Located in Kerrville, TX (safely on a hill)

2026 Sessions are June 28-July 4 and July 5-July 11

Applications fill quickly—contact Shirley at Shirley.Dillman@gmail.com for more information, including sponsorship.
