CB Saturday & Camp Registration Reminder
CB Saturday is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to connect, learn, and experience camp together. We will also host a special support session for caretakers during the event.
Camperships are available to families in need of financial assistance. We never want cost to be the reason a child misses the chance to experience camp, community, and belonging.
For our LITs, CB Saturday is your required hands-on training day, and attendance is essential as you prepare for the summer season.
If you are planning to join us, please register below to reserve your spot.

Amplify Austin Campaign Final Tally
This year, we joined up with I Live Here I Give Here for their Amplify Austin event, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! We are so thankful for our community of caregivers, medical staff, loved ones, and fellow type one diabetics. We are also incredibly thankful for all of our Fundraising Champions who created campaigns to help us reach our goal!
Our final tally of funds raised was: $5,123!
This is an incredible contribution from our community that helps ensure children with diabetes across Central Texas have a fun, safe summer camp experience and a second family to support them throughout the year.
If you didn't get a chance to donate to the Amplify Austin fundraiser, that's okay. You can still make donations directly to Camp below. We will also have a couple more fundraising opportunities coming up, so keep your eyes peeled for more info soon!

Call for Volunteers
If you’ve been outside lately, you can probably feel summer coming up quick. To run smoothly, Camp Bluebonnet relies on many volunteers from our community, and we still have plenty of spots to fill!
We have a virtual volunteer orientation once a month, leading up to camp. Our next orientation is on March 11th at 7:00 pm via Google Meet. You can RSVP below.
We are looking to fill roles in person during the week of camp, as well as some positions on the camp planning committee.

Watching for Emotional Well-Being
Living with type 1 diabetes affects the whole family and can impact your child's emotional health. Starting around age 7-8, healthcare providers should regularly assess children for diabetes-related distress and overall emotional adjustment.
Watch for changes in school performance, peer relationships, or signs of diabetes burnout such as skipping blood sugar checks or insulin doses.
If you notice unexplained high blood sugars or weight loss, discuss the possibility of disordered eating behaviors with your diabetes team, as some adolescents may skip insulin to lose weight.
Your diabetes care team should include mental health professionals experienced in childhood diabetes who can provide support when needed.
Remember that asking for help with the emotional aspects of diabetes is just as important as managing the medical aspects.
